EMBRAPA

Affiliated to the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Food Supplies, Embrapa (Brazilian Enterprise for Research on Farming and Cattle Raising) was created on April 26, 1973.

Its mission is to enable solutions for the rural area sustainable development with focus on agribusiness, thereby creating, adapting and transferring knowledge and technology for the benefit of various segments from the Brazilian society.

FUNDAÇÃO ABC

Fundação ABC para Assistência e Divulgação Técnica Agropecuária (ABC Foundation for Farming and Cattle Raising Technical Divulgation and Support) is a private, non-profit institution that is supported by the contribution of producers and partnerships with private companies in research works, soil analysis services, bromatology and geographic information system.

The research works aim at giving technological support to the rural producers who are affiliated to the Capal (Arapoti), Batavo and Castrolanda Farming and Cattle Raising Cooperatives that compose the ABC Group. The ABC Cooperatives are benefited from the ABC Foundation systems and techniques, ensuring a constant technical update of 1,300 cooperative members and covering an area of 250,000 ha.

FUNDAÇÃO MS

PURPOSES AND GOALS:

1. To develop diffusion, research and experiment works, attesting a divulgation and efficiency level for the products, inputs, equipments, machines and/or others;
2. To perform works to complement the existing private and state research efforts, preventing expenses arising from double efforts;
3. To develop programs to render services and supply material that is under interest of the foundation members to have their activities enhanced;
4. Biotechnology area research in the most varied farming and cattle raising sector fields;
5. To foster and provide conditions to update and train technicians who are directly or indirectly in charge of the programs directed at diffusing technology for the farming and cattle raising development;
6. To make partnerships with foreign or domestic entities to develop and collaborate on works of mutual interest;
7. Other researches required for the good farming and cattle raising development and under interest of producers who are or are not affiliated to Cooagri.

FUNDAÇÃO CHAPADÃO

Chapadão Foundation is a research center that develops works by approaching the areas of Varietal Characteristics (evaluation of soybean varieties, corn hybrids, and cotton cultivations that are more adapted to the Chapadão region), Cultural Practices, Phytopathology, Soil Fertility, Mineral Nutrition of Plants, Weeds and Pests in the main Chapadão region’s cultures (soybean, corn and mainly cotton).

INSTITUTO IRGA

The Rice Institute of Rio Grande do Sul (IRGA) is a self-managed, public entity that is affiliated to the State Government of Rio Grande do Sul by means of the Brazilian Agriculture Department

UFLA - LAVRAS

Founded in 1908, under the Gammon Institute’s lemma: “Dedicated to Lord’s Glory and Human Progress”, Escola Agrícola de Lavras [Agriculture School of Lavras] – then named as Escola Superior de Agricultura de Lavras (ESAL) [Agriculture University of Lavras] and now named as Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA) [Federal University of Lavras] – is a live example for the accuracy of the ideals from its founder, Dr. Samuel Rhea Gammon, and its first director, Dr. Benjamin Harris Hunnicutt. In about one century, the Federal University of Lavras consolidated itself by pioneering in terms of expanding the extraordinary technological and scientific knowledge creation – UFLA promoted the First Brazilian Corn Exposition and the First Farming and Cattle Raising Exposition of the State of Minas Gerais, introduced the first air silo for grain storage in Minas Gerais and one of the first tractors to plough the Brazilian lands, and edited the first magazine of Minas Gerais directed at the rural producer – and, above all, in terms of good teaching quality for educating its students. As a main reason for the Institution to exist, such students have been the important actors of the UFLA’s accredited excellence throughout the years.

UFSCAR - SÃO CARLOS

Founded in 1968, the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), the unique federal university located in the countryside of the State of São Paulo, is a highlight for the high qualification level of its professors: around 99% of them hold the degree of doctor or master. Mostly the professors develop teaching, research and extension activities under exclusive commitment regime. The University’s activities also involve about 6000 students in 33 undergraduate courses and 1900 students in 21 graduate programs.

UNESP - JABOTICABAL

In Brazil, UNESP is among the institutions that create science at most in all areas. From the undergraduate courses, the students are stimulated to participate in research projects through a respected Undergraduate Research program. In total, there are about 5 thousand developing research projects in more than 1.9 thousand labs. The University is an example on research in all knowledge areas, and the undergraduate students can participate in these researches by developing their own undergraduate research projects or helping professors.

USP - ESALQ

The University of São Paulo is the Brazilian greatest higher education and research institution. It ranks third in Latin America and does so in the first hundred similar organizations among about six thousand ones based worldwide. USP is outstandingly projected in Higher Education over Latin America, educates the most part of doctors and masters of the Brazilian private teaching body of teachers and brings a rich bulk of its achievements, thus evolving in art, technology, science and education areas.

FACULDADE INTEGRADO DE CAMPO MOURÃO

The Integrated University is based in Campo Mourão/PR, a hub city of “Comunidade dos Municípios da Região de Campo Mourão (Community of Campo Mourão Municipalities)” – COMCAM, with a privileged location at the midwestern region of Paraná. Founded in 1998, starting with the Business Administration Course/General Qualification, Business Administration Course/Qualification in Foreign Trade and Veterinary Medicine Course, it currently counts on various higher education courses.
